This is your President-elect: a guy who gets into a Twitter feud with Meryl Streep because she dares call him out on something.
This, my friends, will be a long-running series – running over the next four years or however long the Trump Presidency lasts – to look at the character of the man we elected the 45th President of the United States.
As part of this long running series there will be a constant theme: the Donald’ extreme case of Narcissistic Personality Disorder.
As part of her speech at the Golden Globes last night, Meryl Street said the following:
There was one performance this year that stunned me — it sank its hooks in my heart. Not because it was good; there was nothing good about it. But it was effective and it did its job. It made its intended audience laugh, and show their teeth. It was that moment when the person asking to sit in the most respected seat in our country imitated a disabled reporter. It kind of broke my heart when I saw it, and I still can’t get it out of my head, because it wasn’t in a movie. It was real life.
Okay, this is another example of a member of “elite” Hollywood attacking the Donald, and one could expect his followers would not to like it very much. But a President should be above this kind of tit-for-tat.
What did Trump do? He tweeted (of course!):
“Meryl Streep, one of the most over-rated actresses in Hollywood, doesn’t know me but attacked last night at the Golden Globes. She is a Hillary who lost big. For the 100th time, I never “mocked” a disabled reporter (would never do that) but simply showed him “groveling” when he totally changed a 16 year old story that he had written in order to make me look bad. Just more very dishonest media!”
So, your President-elect is living an alternate reality.

But that’s your President-elect. A guy who can’t resist mocking, bullying and getting into a feud with anyone who criticizes him. And who can’t help living in his alternate reality.
Trump supporters, you deserve what you’re about to get.
[1] Yes, I know this is not a “politically correct” word, and I’m using it in response to Trump for precisely that reason.
Equally sad is that Trump was lying (again) about Serge’s reporting. The reporter did not change his story–he accurately corrected Trump’s memory of what was reported. So the reporter certainly did not grovel.
