Submit to the snow, which rewards indolence and punishes the go-getters

Here’s a great little piece in the opinion section of the New York Times about how in the case of a blizzard, one should do nothing. A snowstorm rewards indolence and punishes the go-getters, which is one of reasons it’s the best kind of natural disaster there is.

I can’t argue with that. Well, in Buffalo, where this picture (above) was taken, one might have to do something. But the point is, it will take time. Do it over a few days, and accept that for a couple of days  you’re going to be socked in.

A disturbed citizen and skeptic. I should stop reading the newspaper. Or watching TV. I should turn off NPR and disconnect from the Internet. We’d all be better off.
