I saw a news poll today that had the following breakdown for who supports Harris and who supports Trump:
| Voter Type | Harris | Trump |
| Black voters | 84% | 11% |
| Young voters (18-34) | 57% | 37% |
| White voters | 42% | 56% |
| White voters with college degrees | 55% | 41% |
| White voters without college degrees | 33% | 56% |
| Rural voters | 23% | 75% |
I take polls with a grain of salt, but still, polls are useful in spotting trends.
What kills me about the people who are supporting Trump is that they have almost nothing in common with him.
White voters without college degrees?
In other words, carpenters, plumbers, electricians, truck drivers, farmers, factory workers, people who work with their hands.
These people have nothing in common with Trump, who shits on a golden toilet and has never done a day of manual labor in his life.
Rural voters?
These people have nothing in common with Trump, whose only “outside” activity is playing golf. Trump is a germaphobic New York asshole, and yet, he speaks for these people?
God help us all.
The spell will break at some point, but it may not break before Trump is re-elected. As any thinking person will tell you, the fact that it’s this close after all that we already know about Trump, is a mighty condemnation of half of our population.
I just hope that I live long enough to see the spell truly and completely broken.
(I also like to point out that Hitler never won a voting majority in Germany, and only came to power because successive governments failed to form properly under Germany’s parliamentary system; Paul von Hindenburg, by then a brain-addled 86 year old war hero appointed Hitler as Chancellor because he saw no other option to form a government.)
