There has been a lot of commentary recently relative to Marjorie Taylor Greene, one of two Q-Anon believing Representatives now in the United States Congress (the other being Lauren Boebert). Both of these are Trump-style chaos agents interested in disrupting the legislative process rather than legislating.
MTG (as she is known) has voiced support for disproven and discredited far-right conspiracy theories including Pizzagate, QAnon, false flag shootings, 9/11 conspiracy theories, and the “Clinton Kill List.” QAnon is, of course, a wacky conspiracy theory that a secret cabal of Satan-worshipping, cannibalistic pedophiles is running a global child sex-trafficking ring, which Donald Trump was trying to put out of business.
Recently MTG was found to have promoted another conspiracy theory that Jewish space lasers were responsible for the 2018 Camp Fire in California in a scheme involving California Governor Jerry Brown, companies PG&E, Rothschild & Co and Solaren.
Where do they get this shit?
Why is it always the Jews who are at fault?
My Jewish friends mostly erupted into an explosion of hilarious memes, although, as some of them have pointed out, there is an undercurrent of anxiety among many of them. This theory is being promoted by a United States Representative, after all.
Personally, I blame Christianity.
Look at all the crazy shit that fundamentalist Christians have to believe. They have to believe that:
- The planet was primarily populated through incest.
- That a serpent convinced Eve to eat a forbidden apple.
- God drowned almost the entire planet because he was unhappy about humans consorting with the Nephilim.
- That the planet was primarily repopulated through incest.
- That humans walked with the dinosaurs.
- That unicorns are real.
- That there is no such thing as evolution.
And that’s just scratching the surface.
If Christians didn’t have to believe so much weird shit, maybe they wouldn’t be so inclined to believe in Jewish space lasers.
