Since starting my Blog I have mostly avoided posting political items on Facebook. Actually, I don’t post much at all. I’d rather just respond to some of the amusing things that I see out there, and be more of a voyeur into other people’s lives.
But this morning I saw something that was just too funny on Facebook: a report about where liberal Americans have threatened to move in Donald Trump were actually elected President. Out of 200,000 answers, here were the top 10:
Mexico | 75,000 |
No location specified | 69,000 |
Canada | 25,000 |
United Kingdom | 11,000 |
Australia | 6,000 |
Alaska | 5,800 |
France | 2,000 |
Hawaii | 1,500 |
Jamaica | 1,200 |
Ireland | 1,100 |
Aside from being surprised that Mexico is the top destination – is that mostly Mexican Americans thinking about returning to a more welcoming home? – is all the people who think that Alaska and Hawaii are not part of the United States.
These are my people, after all. These are not Donald Trump voters. These are people who despise Donald Trump! And yet, they don’t know that Alaska and Hawaii are part of the 50 states.
God help the American educational system.
