You have to enjoy the show while it lasts

Not sure how many of you remember Phyllis Schlafly, who is now 91, but she came to prominence in 1972 as a very effective right wing activist, initially as one of the women who was opposed to the Equal Rights Amendment, which was, of course, never passed into law.[1] Later on she became an activist against abortion, civil unions and gay marriage, and LGBT rights in general. Schlafly also founded the Eagle Forum in 1972, which also includes the Eagle Forum Education and Legal Defense Fund and the Eagle Forum PAC. Schlafly has been around for a long time, and has iron-clad conservative credentials, especially with Christian fundamentalists.

And now, it appears, she’s gotten herself into a bit of trouble. What has she done? Endorse Donald Trump. MSNBC recently published a story about how her endorsement caused an insurrection within her own group, as some of her membership were trying to oust her as the Chairman of the Board and CEO of her organization. Including, by the way, her own daughter.

You can’t make this stuff up.

There is something a little bit delicious, a bit of schadenfreude in watching the Right self-destruct, all because of Donald Trump. They may have the last laugh, as they often do, but you have to enjoy this show while it lasts.
